President Bhandari pays tribute to Thailand's late King Adulyadej

Bangkok (Thailand), May 12: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, paid tribute to Thailand’s late King Bhumibol Adulyadej by placing a wreath on his body kept at Thailand-based Grange Palace on Friday evening. President Bhandari also signed on the condolence notebook put at the palace. The President was welcomed by the representative of Thai Prince and high level office bearers. She was also accorded a guard of honour by Thai Army. The last rite of Adulyadej, who died on October 13, 2016, is to be performed on October 26, 2017, according to Buddhist traditions. Head of State and leaders of various countries also reached Thailand to pay their tribute to late King Adulyadej.

President Bhandari, who is on a five-day official visit to Thailand and Sri Lanka, is accompanied by Minister for General Administration Keshab Kumar Budhathoki in the capacity of Minister in Waiting, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shankar Das Bairagi, Joint Secretary Bhrigu Dhungana, foreign expert at Prime Minister’s office Dr Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Secretary Bhupendra Prasad Poudel, Chief of Protocol, Dipak Adhikari, Protocol Officer Kul Bahadur Magar, media-persons and high level officials. She is scheduled to return home on May 16.
