Biplav Maoists claim responsibility for Dhangadhi blast

Kathmandu  : The Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, whose activities have been banned by the government, has claimed responsibility for an explosion in Dhangadhi of Kailali district in far western Nepal on Thursday evening.

The party has also confirmed that Ram Bahadur Singh, who was killed in the incident was its cadre.

Issuing a press statement, the party’s Seti-Mahakali Bureau incharge Nirman claimed Singh had carried the explosive in his possession for self-defence. The statement declares him as a martyr.

Other four persons have sustained injuries in the incident. Police have claimed that one of the injured, Laxman Serala, is also a party cadre. But, the party has not said anything about him.

“We express our deep sympathy for the public who got injured and wish for their speedy recovery,” the statement reads, assuring the party would also manage their further treatment.
