UML to allow parliament business provided impeachment is recalled

Kathmandu : CPN-UML General Secretary Iswar Pokharel has said that his party would not allow the parliament to function if the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki is not recalled. The Legislature-Parliament is meeting later today.

Speaking at a press meet organized at the party’s headquarters this morning, General Secretary Pokharel said it was wrong to introduce such a motion all of sudden, just for the reason that the government did not get a ruling in its favour. The motion was registered last Sunday at the parliament with signatures from a total of 249 members of parliament representing the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN (MC) parties. On a different note, General Secretary Pokharel said the alliance in the upcoming local elections was based on the local needs and issues, and to ensure victory.
