Kathmandu : The state affairs and good governance committee of the federal parliament has asked Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to attend a committee meeting to discuss the issue regarding the newly publicised map of India.
The committee secretariat asked the Prime Minister to attend the meeting scheduled for Monday. The committee wants to take PM Oli’s opinion on the issue.
Protests have sprung up all over the country demanding that Lipulekh and Kalapani are not Indian territories. However, the Indians are defiant that those are part of India’s sovereign territory.
To discuss the issue, PM Oli on Tuesday had called an all-party meeting where leaders from all parties were in attendance. In the meeting, all leaders have asked the government to diplomatic talks with India to solve this dispute.
Similarly, the international relations committee has invited Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali to attend the committee meeting on Monday.
